Well Bottom Blues

Oh my God it's full of stars!

History II: Revenge of the Stupid

There is nothing quite as vacuous American
as the remake, the failure of imagination
after the MBAs and the accountants
take control, repeating the same stories
over and over like a time-tested lullaby
until everyone is sufficiently asleep.

Are you ready for the AI directed
do-over of Kent and Jackson State
or for Detroit 67 and Watts 68?
Japanese Internment?  Operation Wetback?
The scripts have been in development
for years waiting for financial backing.

The folks who made CGI superheroes
and AI generated deep fakes possible
have their checkbooks and pens out.
They’re ready to drop a blockbuster
on anyone who stands between them
and the top of the Forbes 500.
