Well Bottom Blues

Oh my God it's full of stars!

Reading the News at Breakfast

they break us like eggs
to feed their insatiable hunger
leaving us nothing—
just their careless mess
expecting us to clean up
in quiet obedience

it’s time to press their
uncalloused hands
into the fire until
their grasping fingers
sizzle like bacon
