Well Bottom Blues

Oh my God it's full of stars!

Sea of Insomnia

I strap on the apparatus so I can breath
preparing for my descent into dream
from which I come up sputtering regardless
out of the twisting currents of the unconscious
there is treasure somewhere in the wreckage
of memory, today and childhood scattered
and then confusingly reassembled—
when you laughed and when you trembled
in anger or delight, all tossed together
on the bottom by the day's rough weather
