Well Bottom Blues

Oh my God it's full of stars!

Teach me to dance again

“I advance slowly, a dead man, and my vision, no longer my own, is nothing now: it is merely that of a human animal who unwittingly inherited Greek culture, Roman order, Christian morality and all the other illusions that make up the civilization in which I live and feel.”
— Fernando Pessoa, The Book of Disquiet

I am brass-corner leatherette banker-paper Norton Anthology years old.  I understand all the new moves, can fake them if I try, but my feet don’t naturally move that way. I am filled to overflowing with the old songs, the steps out of childhood toward the man those songs became. Teach me to dance again, young for a moment. Let us make a new memory to an old song, weave another chapter in the tapestry of our lives.
