How do I turn on Airplane Mode
for the world? They turn off
the waiting room TV when I ask
but someone comes out later,
says, “We have to leave it on.”
Breathless correspondents
hiss a frothy espresso of
won’t know ‘til the polls close
I expressly did not ask for.
I don’t need a fasting
no caffeine no nicotine
twitchy fluorescent lit
too early morning live shot
in front of a gas station
to tell me the world is going
to hell in a shopping cart.
Just draw my damn blood
before I end up perp walk
shocking incident film at 11.
